Everyone in  Ronanstown Youth Service and Crosscare was delighted with the news this week that one of our young people was runner-up in the national Frame of Mind Photography Competition,

Talented Alix Brady, from our Ronanstown Project, was selected as the runner-up from over 130 students around Ireland for her entry, “Rocking Out”.

St. Patrick’s Mental Health Services run the competition. The photographs entered represent meaningful moments in the lives of young people and share a message of positive well-being.

Alix said her award-winning photo was taken on a day when “me and my friends walked to the zoo and stopped in front of this wall to take a picture.  I like this memory because it was one of the first outings of our summer last year. It was one of my first times hanging out with a new group of people.”

Alix’s photo and 20 others who were shortlisted have since gone on display in St.Patrick’s University Hospital. Alix is a student at Collinstown Park Community College in Neilstown.

First place in the competition went to Daniel O Sullivan from Mountbelloew in Galway for his entry “My Grandfather & I”.
