A Summer Project is a programme of recreational and educational activities for children and young people that takes place in the Summer months (normally July and August). Crosscare Summer Projects are organised by adults from local communities, who come together to plan, organise and run activities. A management committee is set up to do the planning and organising of the project. Their role is to ensure compliance with Garda Vetting legislation, Child Safeguarding legislation, manage disputes within the Project and ensure the safety of all those involved.
The role of Crosscare staff is to support, help and advise the local Summer
Project Committee.
Crosscare Summer Projects are supported financially and practically by Local
Authorities and Education & Training Boards.
