Starting this week, St. Mary’s Pro-Cathedral will host a new 10-week pilot project in partnership with Crosscare. We will be providing a warm, welcoming space where anyone seeking support can drop in for a chat, a cup of tea, and practical help.

From Monday to Friday, 11 am–1 pm, visitors are invited to St. Kevin’s Oratory (at the rear of the church). Each day, a Crosscare caseworker and catering assistant will be on hand to:

  • Offer support and direction on challenges such as housing, migration, addiction, mental health, or financial stress.
  • Provide simple hospitality with tea, coffee, and refreshments.
  • Connect people with services both within Crosscare and in the wider community.

The Pro-Cathedral has seen a growing number of requests for help from parishioners and members of the public.

  • The service is free and open to all.

“This is about creating a space of kindness and care in the heart of the city — a simple gesture that can make a big difference,” says Paula Harris, Crosscare Development Manager.
