We are delighted to announce that Crosscare has won an Award for Outstanding Practice from the Irish Youth Justice Accreditation Panel, recognising the STRONG Programme and its work with young people.
Our submission from the Crosscare Counselling team was assessed as “Excellent”, with the Panel recognising Crosscare as achieving the highest standards in the field of Youth Justice in Ireland. STRONG – Strength Through Resilience Offers New Growth – was praised for its evidence-informed approach, engaging resources, and sustained commitment to achieving positive outcomes for young people.
Following a presentation by the STRONG team at Crosscare’s Blanchardstown offices, the Panel also highlighted the strength of the theory underpinning the programme, its engaging support materials and its innovative approach to supporting children aged 8–11.
Designed for children aged 8–11, STRONG also supports Family Support Workers and Early Intervention Workers to work together, providing a more joined-up approach to supporting children and families. The programme is flexible and can be delivered to groups or individuals in a variety of settings.
The Panel also highlighted the programme’s potential to be rolled out more widely across Youth Diversion Projects and other services, and to an older cohort of young people, describing it as an example of excellence for the wider Youth Justice sector.
