Crosscare is proud to have contributed to Ireland’s 2023 Voluntary National Review – Sustainable Development Goals, which has just been published.

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), adopted by all United Nations member states in 2015, are an urgent call for action by all developed and developing countries in a global partnership. They recognise that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.

Ireland is the first country to publish a report that contains direct input from young people on our country’s progress on Sustainable Development Goals.

Crosscare played an important role in this process in the Lived Experience Forum, which had significant contributions from the youth sector, including an address by our Ronanstown Youth Service Manager, Sinead Harris.

The forum began a dialogue with a wide representation of groups and communities to develop a shared understanding of Leaving No One Behind in an Irish context and to ensure its further incorporation into policy and national SDG structures.
